SAP HANA Tailored Datacenter Integration (TDI)

Introduction:

TDI stands for Tailored Datacenter Integration and describes a program that allows HANA customers to leverage existing hardware and infrastructure components for their HANA environment.
Typically an HANA appliance comes with all necessary components pre-configured and is provided by certified HANA hardware partners. TDI targets the usage of certain hardware and infrastructure components already existing in a customer's landscape instead of the corresponding components delivered with a HANA appliance.

The SAP HANA Appliance Delivery is your first choice if you are looking for a preconfigured hardware set-up and a preinstalled software package for a fast implementation done by your chosen hardware partner and fully supported by us.


The SAP HANA appliance delivery is pretty easy and comfortable, but it has some limitations regarding hardware flexibility and may require changes to established IT operation processes.
That’s the reason SAP decided to offer an additional approach named SAP HANA Tailored Data Center Integration to give the flexibility.

In SAP HANA Tailored Data Center Integration (TDI), the freedom of choice regarding the SAP HANA hardware landscape is back to customer. Here it’s possible to reuse existing enterprise storage and use it for multiple applications besides SAP HANA. That gives the opportunity to work with the storage solution that is best for customers.


However, with great power comes great responsibility. With TDI approach customer is self-responsible for the system, beginning from the installation up to run the landscape with all the different parties.
